在众多的Old School说唱MC中，Biz Markie毋庸质疑是东海岸饶舌音乐的根源。他孩子般的幽默和童趣掩盖了他作为一个杰出freestyle rhymer的事实，又或许Biz Markie未能将他狂野的饶舌技艺完整的展示在作品，但他却以自己的方式令唱片有了价值。在他傻乎乎的幽默感以及创造力十足的采样造就的音乐中，他证明了Hip Hop可以在搞笑又具有艺术感，同时又不失街头文化的亲和力。他这样独特的风格令专辑大获成功，同时也是对他的诅咒--其中采样受到过高的关注，以至于他终因1991年"Alone Again"一曲中未经许可的采样另他受到起诉。漫长的诉讼令他的音乐生涯就此停滞。但他在90年代中期为Beastie Boyz的冠军单曲献声，还是让我们看到了他在Hip Hop乐坛巨大的影响力。
